Welcome to my happy place!
Creating art is a sacred movement to me, a coming together of earth and spirit.
Throwing and shaping clay is a very primal experience; it bubbles up from a deep and sometimes distant place within.
I am often surprised and delighted by what my hands seem to instinctively do.
My work is eclectic. It combines simple elegance, floral designs, thrown and altered pieces, slab rolled and hand
shaped pieces. I also do intricate slip trailing of images from some meditative drawings I have done. All of my work is high fired, some in an electric kiln and some gas reduced.
Recently I have discovered Dichroic glass. Now I have an exciting winter time focus. My garage is much too cold and
inaccesible in the winter for throwing pots. The light of dichroic glass and its possibility’s are very exciting to me, especially in the dead of winter.
Enjoy my exploration of function, light and beauty!
Blessings,
Judy
